"Komorebi" is the Japanese words meaning sunlight filtering through leaves. The Japanese believe it has an almost spiritual effect on one’s mood. This is one of a series of paintings I’ve worked on to evoke Komorebi using an imaginary building as the backdrop for the light effect. This piece was a finalist in The Calleen Art Award, a National prize for Australian Contemporary Art in 2023.
